We are A Non-Profit to Serve Local Neighborhoods

In 1970, a group of families at Haygood United Methodist Church (UMC) joined together and started Weekday Children’s Ministries (WCM) as non-profit organization to address the childcare need in the Morningside and Virginia Highlands area. What started as a one room day care for 8 children has grown into the loving Preschool and Child Development Center we know today. Haygood Weekday Children’s Ministries operates as a 501(c)3 organization and as an independent community extension of the church with the church’s blessing.

At Haygood Preschool and Child Development Center, it is our mission to foster healthy, well-rounded childhood development in an accepting, supportive environment where each individual is respected as a child of God.
