What are the Child Development Center hours of operations?
The Child Development Center is open from 7:30 am – 6:00 pm, Monday – Friday. It is a year-round program and the new school year starts June 1. The CDC is closed only on major holidays and teacher training days. For elementary school-aged children enrolled in the After School Hut program, the hours are 2:30 pm – 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday during the school year and 7:30 am – 6:00 pm during the summer. The Child Development Center offers full Hut days on many of the Atlanta Public School holidays.
Do you offer carpool?
Haygood Child Development Center does not offer carpool; however, we do have a drive-up lane that is available during specific times, for short visits during the morning and afternoon. The drive-up lane is NOT available from 8:45 am – 9:15 am and from 12:45 am – 1:15 pm, Monday through Friday. During those hours, the Preschool runs its carpool sessions. Parents are required to sign their children in and out each day. Parents must drop off and pick up from the classroom.
When should I apply for admission to the Child Development Center?
Registration is available online from December 15th-January 31st. Applications for the program may only be submitted during this registration period. Tours are available from August-February and all start at 10:30 am. Please check the CDC calendar for tour dates. Families are notified in March of their application status. Families who are not admitted are offered to stay on the CDC wait list for the school year. The Child Development Center does not offer rolling admissions from the previous school year wait list, so each family who were put on the wait list must re-apply each year. Families on the wait list are notified by the Director when a space becomes available for your child.
What enrichment programs are offered?
The Child Development Center offers music to all enrolled children. Spanish, yoga and art are also offered to students 2 and older and science is offered to children 3 and older.
