Volunteer Opportunities
Book Fair Committee
Volunteers help to organize and run the Scholastic Book Fair held one week during the Fall.
Teacher Appreciation Committee
The Teacher Appreciation Committee host two luncheons each year for the teaching staff (one in October and one in February) and a weeks-worth of fun during Teacher Appreciation Week (May). This committee also coordinates a parent-donated Christmas and End of the Year gift for each teacher.
Substitute Teaching
We are always looking for substitute teachers, and who better to fill in than our amazing parents? Substitutes assist in the classroom from 8:50 am-1:10 pm and are paid for their time. Want to know what it feels like to be a rock star? Be a substitute for a day!
Room Parent Committee
Room Parents are important assets to the teachers by helping with various activities throughout the year. The Room Parent helps the teacher arrange for drivers for field trips and coordinates other parent volunteers for the parties throughout the year. Room Parents may also assist in contacting the parents in their class regarding the many other activities at Haygood. This volunteer opportunity is ongoing throughout the year.
Mardi Gras Pancake Breakfast
Volunteers help with set up/clean up, preparation and serving a pancake breakfast in the Fellowship Hall. This delicious event occurs on Fat Tuesday each year.
Auction/Fundraising Committee
This committee will be responsible for helping Haygood raise funds to help enrich our wonderful school programs. This committee will assist with our Auction and Annual Appeal.
Mission Committee
Committee members assist with several charitable drives throughout the school year, including Homeless at Heart, Cradle Care, Rise Against Hunger, and Soles for Souls. Have a cause that is close to your heart? The Haygood family is always looking for ways to help their community, so let us know!
Pre-K Promotion
Volunteers of this committee plan the end of the year promotion ceremony and celebration for our Pre-K classes. This includes choosing a theme, designing the programs, and coordinating the refreshments.
