Music has been an important part of Haygood Preschool since our program began. We have a teacher specifically dedicated to teaching music. Our current teacher has been at Haygood for over 14 years. She is trained in Orff-Shluwerk techniques and seeks out training each year to keep our music program current and child focused.
Singing and movement are important elements in the daily curriculum for the Preschool. The Music teacher provides instruction twice a week for the Two Day Twos classes and our Three Day Threes and Twos classes. Our Five day classes receive music instruction four times per week. Our music curriculum includes singing, movement, games, instruments, rhythm activities, listening and dramatization. The parents will have several opportunities to see the children perform at different events throughout the year.
