- All parents, except Toddlers, may use the carpool lane in the morning between 8:50 and 9:10am. We will not begin carpool before 8:50 and will stop promptly at 9:10am.
- Toddlers will be dropped off and picked up in the classroom. Parents are late after 12:00pm.
- The 2 year old students should be picked up in the carpool lane between 11:50 and noon. Parents are late after 12:00pm.
- The parents of 3 year old and 4 year old students should not arrive in the carpool lane before 12:00pm. If you do arrive early you may be asked to pull back through the line. Pick-up for this age group is between 12:00-12:10pm. Parents are late after 12:10pm.
- Weather permitting Pre-K children will be picked up from the playground. We have blocked out one parking space directly in front of the playground to allow children to safely walk to their cars. Please do not park in this space at any time. If it is raining, we will dismiss the Pre-K children from the gym with the other children. Parents are late after 12:10pm. Rainy days will mean that we have 42 additional children that we need to get safely into cars. Please be patient with us. Late fees will not be given if you are in line on time.
- If you have several children of different ages to pick up, please follow the instructions for each child's class. It is important that the younger children be safely returned to you before the older children begin to be released.
- We will give late slips to late parents. If you have an emergency, please contact the school office at 404-872-5806 ext. 233 and we will work with you. Most importantly we want to make sure that your child knows that you or someone else is on the way.
- Only authorized persons will be allowed to pick up your child. We will not give your child to anyone who is not authorized, unless we have a note from you.
- PLEASE do not park and leave your car unattended in the carpool lane at anytime!!
- Everyone will be given a carpool number for your child. Please tape this number in the passenger side window of your car. This will help us to get to know you and your car and expedite getting all the children home safely.
- For those on tight schedules, you may want to walk to the door to pick up your child. We will dismiss your child at the carpool lane entrance We request that parents do not come into the lobby at that time. The children are tired, the teachers are busy and our focus is to get everyone safely into their cars. If you need to talk to a teachers, please wait until carpool is over. You may also call the office and leave a message for the teacher to contact you.
- Cell phone use is prohibited in the carpool lane. It creates a significant danger to the teachers and to the children. Children will not be placed in a car if the driver is on the phone and you may be asked to leave the carpool lane. Our first consideration is always the safety and well being of your children.
- We will buckle children into their seats; however, Haygood Preschool assumes no liability in this process. You will be responsible for checking to make sure that your child is securely in his/her seat. The way the carpool lane flows, it would be very helpful if the car seat is placed on the passenger side. This will prevent us from having to walk your child between the cars to get them into their seats.
