Enrichment programs are provided from September to May of each school year and they compliment our curriculum. The following programs are offered during school hours:
Singing and movement are important elements in the daily curriculum for the Center. The CDC Music teacher works with classes weekly. Our music curriculum includes singing, movement, games, instruments, rhythm activities, listening and dramatization. The parents will have several opportunities to see the children perform at different events throughout the year.
Spanish is taught weekly for children 3 and older during the academic school year. Children learn about Spanish culture, foods and language in a circle time environment.
Chapel services are held from October through March in the Haygood Chapel for children 3 and older. Parents and friends are invited to attend at any time. The chapel program lasts for approximately 15 minutes and includes a short talk, singing, recognition of birthdays and prayer. The emphasis in chapel is a non-denominational approach on nature and love of God. The atmosphere in chapel is warm, loving, accepting and relaxed.
Additional enrichment programs, such as ballet, basketball, karate and Play Ball are offered through the Haygood Memorial United Methodist Church Recreation Department. For information and applications for these programs go to haygoodumc.org and click on Recreation
